Medical Marijuana Benefit Slated for Favored LR Nightspot
Little Rock, AR: In a special holiday benefit concert, two rising stars in the
Arkansas music scene will play at a favored Little Rock nightspot, Juanita’s.
The show, scheduled to start at 9 pm on Saturday December 21, features Flip Off
Pirates and Underground Muse Project. Proceeds will benefit the Arkansas medical
marijuana campaign.
Flip Off Pirates, cutting its teeth on the Dickson Street scene in Fayetteville
over the last two years, has built a strong following in Little Rock with its
“progressive aggressive modern Ozark Mountain funk junk” music. Underground Muse
Project is a bit newer, but already has a dedicated fan base for its mature
sound including trumpet in a “hip hop jazz trance fusion roots reggae” style.
“These bands never fail to electrify their audiences with their sheer energy and
musical talents,” states Denele Campbell, program coordinator for the Arkansas
Alliance for Medical Marijuana. “We’re thrilled to have them for a holiday
program when people can take a little time to go out with their friends and
family to have some fun and support a good cause – this promises to be a
sell-out event.”
Cover price is $6 at the door. Alliance volunteers will staff an information
table and sell t-shirts, stickers, and raffle items. Juanita’s is located at
1300 S. Main, Little Rock. For more information, contact the Alliance at
501-227-5161.
