The Alliance
supports a change in Arkansas law that would reduce current
marijuana penalties. Adults in possession of one ounce or
less should receive a citation only, possibly with a fine.
This change would bring Arkansas millions in cost savings on law
enforcement expense as well as protect thousands of citizens
from unnecessary arrests. Many other states have
decriminalized marijuana.
