Going to Little Rock, to the Capitol, and testifying before the House Committee in favor of HB1303 was a scary, yet empowering experience for me. 

I believe in what I say about Medical Marijuana, that  it is more effective and less traumatizing than any prescription medication for pain, muscle spasms, and depression, based on personal experience. I was glad, in fact, honored, to be able to speak in favor of HB1303.  

I felt listened to by the committee members, though I was disappointed my own representative, Cecile Bledsoe, and Rep. Womack, the most questioning member, chose to leave before I testified.  I wish I had been more informed about Marinol so I could have responded better about it.     

I agree with Patrick Egan about being better informed before testifying about a bill such as HB1303 is a necessity.  Thank you, Patrick, for your kind and insightful account of the hearing.  I would also like to thank Dana Copp, Betty Jean Wicker, John Markes, and Eric Camp for their testimonies. 

Most of all, I am grateful to Denele Campbell for her compassion and caring.     

It was extremely gratifying to have three Committee members AND the chairman vote in favor of the bill.  Their support gives encouragement and hope to all of us.
